so our first night we were invited to come do a focus volunteer project. There was a fire about a month ago that destroyed 245 homes, i shouldnt say homes i should say huts. Driving to where we were going was a complete shock to me.I was expecting poor but i wasnt quite expecting this. We walked back a little alley way and it opened up to hundreds of little huts with people trying to fit 5-6 people in one. Little babies with no clothes or teeth, dirty from not having a bath in weeks. It just opened my eyes to how they are living here. But it was also the best way to spend our first day
So the past two weeks we have been adjusting to the time difference.. (15 hrs) cody has been adjusting to working nights which hasnt been easy.. we moved into kacey and landons house (which we move into ours TODAY!!) we have swam almost every day!We have realized that public bathrooms do NOT have toilet paper! We will eventually learn that ants and spiders will be our friends..... we got a motorcylce..(havent told my mom that yet..) Me and cody have convinced Payson, kacey and landons boy, that we are way more fun then his parents:) we have a bad mitten court in our neighborhood so we have played that. The best thing about Landon and cody working nights is when they wake up we all get to spend the entire day together until they leave at 10:00pm. anyways i'll finish with pictures from a bunch of everything. we went to Cebu this weekend another island right by bacolod it was a blast!
